The future of PC gaming is looking very good and with the ability to instantly turn people into whatever, Unreal Engine is at the forefront of our future. I am a big fan of Andy Serkis also and how the dickens he has never won an oscar is beyond me.

Ray Tracing - Instant character animation.

And I might as well add this here as I haven't seen this before.... The Unity Engine interactive demo "The book of the dead is jaw droppingly good. I really hope to see these techs sooner rather than later.

As soon as I hear something about motion capture, I assume Andy Serkis has been hired for it. And then rolleyes.

I'm sure he would've done the Siren gig if it weren't a female leading it...

There are other actors out there that can hide behind green screens and wear facial movement trackers, I'm kinda sick of seeing this guy the standard bearer every time.

He actually founded the company that is at the forefront of motion capture in the UK and whose film credits include planet of the apes, avengers, star wars etc.

He's the standard bearer because he and his company are the ones driving the tech forwards. To say any fool can stand in front of a green screen is a massive discredit to the work he and his team are doing.

The company started in 2011, motion capture was pretty well developed by then. And lets be honest, it's a very clever business move to ensure he/his company gets all the work going forward.
The very fact he has such a wealth of film credit to his name is what bugs me. Who else could you name as a mocap actor?

And don't get me wrong, I like the guy on his own merits, he's definitely talented. But there are other talented people out there. And I didn't mention fools.

And Serkis is a top-notch actor in his own right. Listen - really listen - to his soliloquy as Smeagol / Gollum. Look at his performance in Black Panther. It's just that he just isn't handsome enough for a starring role in Hollywood.

Other than Mocap, I feel Serkis is an extremely good actor. I have enjoyed his films generally and he was very very good in Black Panther.

Are you unable to relate to a person in the media who gets too much exposure? That's where I'm at, there is no bitterness.

To somebody working in the media there is no such thing as "too much" exposure. That's the very essence of their job; to be seen and to perform. Without that they're not earning the big bucks because they fade from the public consciousness. You just sound annoyed that he's very successfully done that.

Cool, hopefully they're putting in as just much effort into building themselves similarly-successful careers, and maybe we'll eventually know their names someday too.
