Just a quick one, is it ok to buy this game 2nd hand or does it use a similar CD key system to half life 2? Once it's been registered can it be played by someone else?

Will be fine mate.
At times I've had 5 people playing online on my CD key many years ago all on one server before I made them buy there own copies

Not even sure if the game has cd-key bans. Its certainly nothing like steam!

Yeah you should be fine..

Just in case you don't know.....

If you have a 8 series card and running XP, you might get stuttering and poor perfomace in UT2004. It's a common problem, but with Vista it works flawlessly, its a driver issue that nvidia haven't seem to fix for XP. I have this problem with XP, but not in Vista.

Not had any problems running UT2004 here on a GTX or on the GTS I had before it.

a lot of European servers use UTAN ban system, so if that key has been banned for cheating you'll likely be banned on every server than also uses UTAN

IIRC it checks your copy with the master server when you hit "multiplayer".
