Is this the original UT that came out? edit read more, would seem it is! answered my own question lol

want to play capture the flag, do UT servers still see people playing?

Game of the Year is the original with extra maps and addons. The core of it is the same game however.

People still play as far as I know, and CTF is awesome on that game

Would I be able to run it at 1680x1050?

A couple of steam games don't show res beyond 1280x1024 for me.

The res does go quite high for the time though so maybe...

Don't you need to choose the aspect that you want in order to unlock those 1650-style resolutions? Eg If in the resolution choice window I leave it at 4:3 I can only get up to 1600x1200 but change to 16:10 and I can get up to 1920x1200.

Note: I don't have this game (well via Steam anyway) but this is what I do for Source games.

UT is not a Source-engine game, the clue is in the name

To run widescreen properly you'll need this.

I had no issues getting UT on the latest official patch working at 1680x1050. Damn good fun still.

One of the last games I got that came in the old school cardboard boxes as well.
