Unreal Tournament III - ut3.exe problem

After finally upgrading my PC to play some games, I'm having a problem with UT3.. I'll playing the game for a very short time (less than a minute sometimes) and the game will stop and a window pops up saying "UT3.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We appologise....".

I've seen a mention of turning off OpenAL etc and I've tried it but still no luck.

System : Quad 6850, 2GB Ram, 2 x 8800 Ultras (SLI), Windows XP Pro SP2, Creative X-Fi Fatality Sound card.

Hope someone knows how to solve this problem, was looking forward to playing this

Sometimes the best thing to do is un-install and then re-install UT.

Try that before exploring other possibilities.

Thanks for the tip, I just uninstalled and re-installed and just played 3 full games

Hope it stays that way.
