I've just stuck the original UT on my recently built machine (Core2 2.66, x1950, XP Pro) for a LAN session I'm going to tomorrow and it's running waaaaay too fast.

I've tried compatibility mode (to bind it to a single CPU) and it's still running at about double speed.

Any ideas?

Type in 'unreal tournament running too fast' to google.

I did and loads of answers came up,didn't read through them though. I'm sure you'll find a fix.

Yup, google it for the specifics, but basically...
something like -cpuspeed 2660 on the icon shortcut and,
When it's running, alt tab back to windows and do what peterattheboro says.

Still felt a bit wierd after that though.

I've tried google and couldn't find anything useful - hence popping in here to the fount of all knowledge.

Compatabilty mode locks the game to one core, and doesn't seem to help.

I'll try the shortcut switch thing.

Sorted it, thanks for the tips.

Win 95 Compatability mode, changing the power profile to Always On (to disable speedstep) plusa switch to D3D with vsync seems to have sorted it.
