I've just installed the original UT and patched it hoping for some lan action here at my house... but when I try and play a game it goes into super speed! Is this because my pc is too fast to handle it? I've tried setting all the graphics options up to the max but I'm still getting around 800FPS!!! Even VSync doesn't appear to do anything

Is there any way of slowing it down? Or do I have to give up on the idea of playing it?

Cheers:)

No the settings in UT need turning down. There is a speed setting, turn it down from 200% and it should be fine.

I had the exact same problem / loves UT :D

Built my new rig slapped UT on and WHAAA ? it was flying .

I uninstaled it re instaled it ... still the same ..I was like wth is wrong with this ?

It turned out to be the fact that it don't like dual prossesers .

Quite easy to sort out thogh .

Start game

Then alt -tabb ... Or ctrl -ESC

Task manager >

Look in prosseses for the UT.exe

Right click on it and scrole down to SET AFFNITY

Then uncheck one of the cpu boxs .

Close task manager

Expand back to game .... speed normal .

You will however have to do this every time you play if it works .

Hope that helps ...If not it might help somone else

if you're using the opengl renderer, download one of the newer versions and add this to your unrealtournament.ini under [OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice]

FrameRateLimit=140

140 being the fps cap :)

it should fix your problem hopefully

ps. make a backup of everything first

I did not have to do ether of the above 2 post and mine works fine :D

BTW ... get it sorted and we will have a OCUK server up we can all blow each other to bit's ahahah

( some more than others :D )

I've tried it at 50% but it still runs at super speed...

I've only got a 3700SD.

Might try switching to OpenGL though, I was using Direct3D.

Edit: Tried switching to OpenGL with the frame rate limiter on but it didnt seem to limit it at all

did you dl the one i linked to? im not sure if the default one installed with ut recognizes framelimiter. anyhows, if you did then i dont really know because my fps is capped at 140 with it on

type that in the console...don't know if it'll work while playing as ive only seen it used in demos :)

I was being a tard and put the frame rate limit thing in the wrong ini... re-read what you'd written and slapped myself for being stupid and it worked, now limited at 140:)

Cheers for all the replies!
