UNREAL TOURNAMENT

Had a few games! Extremely rusty. Managed a godlike on Deck 16 though, just need to get back into my swing and get used to timing the belt etc.

One thing I've noticed is the netcode! I think we're spoilt now days, aiming miles away to get a hit.

I normally still get on the deck FFA all weapons server at some point during the evening as it's unfortunately the only place to still get quick games these days. Pickup channels (#vc.ut, #berserk.ut) still offer more challenge but can take a while to fill up.

Competively I think the game is just about done in TDM at least, this is the fist season in about 12 years on CB that hasn't had a 4v4 TDM cup and the 2v2 that replaced looks like it may struggle to finish.

Just wish there was something that could replace UT other than that other equally old and succesful (but not quite as great

) fps.

While I was primarily a Quake player (Quake2 Instagib in particular, RmR was my clan ^_^) I loved UT99, UT2003 and UT2004. In fact, Planetside 2 has reminded me of my UT2004 Onslaught days a little

Played that game so much! So sick of military shooters year after year now.

UT 2004 is the greatest game of all time, belongs in every pc gamer's catalogue and is simply amazing.

Playing with randoms, not surprised. If anything we could get something going here. There always was a massive difference on a public server if just a couple of guys from different clans dropped in.

More annoyed that I am working away from home so can't have a proper go. Team CTF could be a good laugh.

Sorry to bump but i just installed a nice version of this with all the right shaders already set up so it looks the best it can be running @ 1080p

Just need to set up the mouse and fov and controls properly as it runs like treacle when turning

anybody still play it ?
