Hi All.

I've moved my HTPC back into a tower case to act as more of a server, but my DVD drive is playing up.

Its the same hardware, but the drive cant be used by programs. Both iTunes and MakeMKV dont recognise it, despite being able to browse the files on the disc in windows explorer. It also has power.

Any ideas? Its an LG drive connected to an Asrock H97m/itx, with windows 10.

Thanks.

Try a different sata port on the motherboard and a different sata cable, also test a different power connector from the PSU, three things to try all simple. On the slim chance you're using IDE, check your slave/master config.

Thanks. I've tried that, but didn't work. Running programs as administrator seems to do the trick, oddly.
