I cancelled a download mid flow and Vista went wibble. The partial file remained on the desktop and is entirely untouchable. I can call up it's properties, but if I try to move or delete it it simply goes into the 'calculating time remaining' dialogue and stays there - I left if for about 3 hours and it was still going.
I tried deleting it through explorer. I tried via the Dos Box. I tried safe mode and that did the same. Eventually I got rid of it by booting into "safe mode with command prompt" and used the del command.
Anyone else come across this or know a work around? It seems to be a repeatable event, but only seems to happen with longer filenames.
