today i recieved my new PC. I unpackaged it, removed the sides and installed my TV card. I then put in the CD to install the drivers etc, all was fine. The drivers did not install correctly so i unistalled and then rebooted, the DVD drive now does not work!! what have i done and how can it be fixed.

what was the specification of the computer?
and by not working do you mean the tray doesnt open? the drive doesnt appear in windows? or when you insert a disc it isnt detecting it or do you mean it loads but has problems installing from any disc?
gonna have to be more specific basically with what the problem is.

Seeing as it's a prebuilt system, maybe the cable came a bit loose during transit. Check it's pushed in all the way.
cables are fine it would seem. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;314060 I think that is the problem, but that guide is for XP and i have vista. Would it still work?
