Unstable overclock?

I've got a Saphire 5850 sitting at 915 / 1140 on 1.25volts and its stable in everything including crysis / 3dmark 11 / heaven mark / witcher 2 and so on.

I left crysis bench running maxed for 3 hours and it was fine but duke nukem crashes instantly with the overclock (stable on stock clocks). In fact it crashes on any overclock. The computer resets and the fan goes max which I assume is to protect the card.

Any ideas?

Download Furmark 1.9.0 and see how the card likes that for 15-20 minutes. It'll push your card way more than Duke ever could, so if it handles Furmark it'll handle Duke. If anything can handle all that raw masculinity. :D

Possibly different games push the cards in difference ways, so a stable overclock in one game may not be stable in another game.

Highly unlikely but possible.

Lowering the overclock may help.

I just assumed some of the things I was using would push the card more than Duke as it doesn't look that great but maybe not.

So you think it might be best to just downclock for this one game?
