i leave my system on 24/7 or at least i try. for some reason its becoming unstable freezing and last night i got a blue screen. any ideas? my error report said something about an Unknown Driver??

I had a similiar problem a year ago. Turned out to be faulty memory.

If I took one of the modules out it was stable. Both modules caused problems.

A simple RMA sorted that problem out!

Have you installed anything new recently or updated any drivers etc; if your have a message displaying an error regarding a driver I would first check drivers and updates.

That error does not imo directly link to a memory error - run memtest anyway though just to be sure.

I ran memtest with the problem.

Nothing came up for ages.

Yet the instant I booted, problems started.

Eventually, after many loops, memtest did pick up a fault. A single module worked fine on it's own, the two 'paired' modules didn't work together causing the problems.

If you do run memtest, make sure it is on for at least 24hours.

well when it started back up i went to the device manager and it had a "?" next to one of my devices. which i hadnt installed drivers for i just let windows do it. it might have been that.

ive unpluged it now so we'll just see what happens

EDIT: one night my pc just froze for no reason. just froze didnt shut down or anything.. just froze? any ideas?

NIGHTMERE. my pc just doesnt like this memory like. i think an RMA is in order.

EDIT. my motherboard isnt on GeIL's compatability list?
