I have built a spare computer for when I return to my parents to visit, However it seems to blue screen on world of tanks once every couple of days and I have had lockups and crash to desktops in Arma 2.

What tools can I use to test cpu, memory and gpu? I want to test them independantly to hopefully identify the culprit.

Run FurMark, if that makes it lock up then it's probably the GPU overheating or broken.

CPU: Prime95 (although if that fails it could indicate a problem elsewhere such as motherboard/RAM, so probably not that useful in your case)
Memory: memtest86+

list your components and current cpu, memory voltages

crashing in games usually point to memory or cpu memory controller voltage not enough

reboot and press delete at startup to enter the bios,it will tell you in there

you need to say what motherboard and cpu and memory your using

hehe think I may have found the potential problem, a few years back I must have overclocked the ram, I have turned the timings to the standard setting and selected the correct 1.65v for them.

I'll see how I go and report back!
