Hello I'm after a little help and I'm hoping this is the right place for it.

I don't know a great amount about hardware but over the past few weeks with help from a friend of a friend I came up with this:
Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor £161.99
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler £23.98
ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard £91.80
Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory £61.38
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive £41.99
MSI GeForce GTX 760 2GB Video Card £198.91
Corsair 300R ATX Mid Tower Case £59.90
Corsair CX 600W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V Power Supply £54.68
Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer £13.15
Total: £708.78

I'm trying to keep it as close to £700 as possible with the best performance for games. How does this spec look? Is the CPU fan needed? Should I add a 140mm case fan?

The only real thing I'm unsure about is the 760 and if I should pay the extra for a 770? But I guess I'm looking near £800 then... Also it shows the system estimated wattage as 356... would the power supply at 600w be good enough? As I'm yet to connect keyboard, mouse, monitor etc.

Thanks in advance :)

Welcome,

You need to remove that link, the rules state you cannot link or hint at competitors pricing, and that does just that..

I suggest you list the parts out and an overall price..

You know that list will cost a lot more than £710 right? As postage from some retails (which i know WILL charge for postage) isn't included.

I assume this is a gaming PC? Are you wanting to overclock in the future?

Sorry wasn't aware of the rule... I've updated the spec in first post. Yes this is a gaming PC and most likely will be overclocked in the future. And I know it will cost more through shipping etc, I'm trying to keep it close to £700 but if it goes over slightly I'm not too worried.

Thanks TooMuchCheese I will take a proper look at that later when I finish work.

How does it differ from The Cheese spec?

Windowed case, so you can see all your goodies.
Ivybridge instead of haswell (negitive, maybe)
Aftermarket cooler to overclock with
Better OD
Also, has a Xfire capable motherboard.. All your need to do is get a decent 750W PSU and add another 7950 and youre laughing, nice cheap upgrade. :)

If the OP wants more GPU power, i feel he'd be better served putting that into a better single card now, rather than pushing up the PSU requirements and requiring a crossfire board, not to mention the extra heat 2 GPUs will generate.
