Unsure on these stats

Just done a speed test at speedtest.net and got this..

Yet, when i went to download SP2 for XP, went to microsfot and the whole thing, 262mb patch took me 43secs to download.....

So, to me, this doesnt add up....arrgghhhh, i hate these dam speed tests..

Grow up boy! I'd love to be able to do that. I'm not sure how SpeedTest works but I wouldn't trust it as 100% representative. It just sends a load of data between the SpeedTest server and a server thought to be geographically near you. The route that SP2 took to get to you from the MS server would be an entirely different route so you need to take that into account.

And whenever I've done a SpeedTest test sometimes choosing a server in Ireland gets me better results than choosing a Manchester one or London (depending on whether I am at home or at Uni).

not maoning about the download speed, even me, well know for moaning, cant moan at that one. Not sure if the stats from speed test ring true though is all...

Well I think you've proved the Speedtest site isn't exactly right. You'll get a better idea of how well your line is working by downloading files from sites you use.
