I'm currently putting a new build together part by part over the next month & have settled on most parts (Motherboard likely to be changed) although PSU I'm not sure how much power I'll need and what makes to avoid or lean towards. System is below...

AMD Piledriver FX-8 Eight Core 8350 Black Edition 4.00GHz (Socket AM3+)

ASRock 990FX Extreme3 AMD 990FX (Socket AM3+) DDR3 ATX Motherboard

Asus HD 7870 DirectCU II V2 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Kingston HyperX Black 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C10 1600MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit

Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache

All suggestions welcome, except "Get Intel" ;)

500 to 550 for a psu 600 max anything that's Modular for being a tidy freak

Seasonic
XFX
Corsair
Cooler Master

maybe in that order as well :)

Whats your budget?

I'd personally recommend either a Seasonic, Corsair, XFX or OCZ power supply. I've used OCZ for many many years and not had a problem, but I hear that Seasonic is one of the best.

650W PSU would be great as it leaves a bit of room for overclocking, upgrades etc but AMD recommends a 500W PSU a system with a 7970.

Well thats definitely narrowed it down for me. I wouldnt be overclocking, even though reading up on the 8350 it seems pretty simple to do. Budget wise I've not really set a price, but this is one area I dont want to cut corners on!
