unusual game install problem

i have just tried installing fallout 3 and it gets so far and then it gives me this
error

Feature transfer error
File E:\data2.cab
Error: data error cyclic redundancy check

now i know that it is not the disk as i tried it on my other pc and i know that it is not the dvd drive as i installed crysis just to be sure and worked without any problems
advice, help plz?

I used to get similar errors when trying to install World of Warcraft. It turned out to be dodgy RAM on my overclocked machine.

Try setting clocks to stock and reinstalling, or using some different RAM and see how it goes.
