unusual problem with mouse please help

hi guys

il try and explain this as best i can

i use a razor death adder mouse its reletively new i have had it approc 2 months
i have been very pleased with it.

but this evening for some uknown reason to me it has decided to muck me about.it is not allowing me to click any windows it makes the window go as if its behind somthing else you know all the colour goes from the window box. and if im ingame and click one of the buttons it minimises the game and i can then no longer click anything else.

i have tried updating drivers
uninstalling drivers and reinstalling the new versions
windows is uptodate i have tried rolling back windows to a previouse date.
and still nothing.

i have an old mouse that appears to work fine but if i plug the death adder back in both the mouse behave in the same way until i do a restart.

do you guys have any ideas windows seems to have done a few updates today could this be it?

or do you think its bust and i need a new one?

Hmm that sounds odd. You could try a firmware update on the mouse if you haven't already. Could be incompatibility of old firmware with new windows updates. It's a long shot but it may work. Failing that I'd say get in touch with the shop where you bought it if it's only 2 months old
 
thanks for the advice i will double check the firm ware is uptodate and if that dosent work it will be back to the shop.

Could be that Windows Update installed it's own DeathAdder drivers which are garbage. In fact all they did was induce regular BSODs on my machine. You can try going into device manager and uninstalling any drivers there which will remove any that Windows tried to install. Razer's drivers are not much better. I tend to install them once, set up my DPI and polling rate then uninstall them. The mouse will remember those settings pretty much forever, unless you do a firmware update or the like.

If you do need to RMA then Razer will tell you to get lost and send you back to the retailer so I'd get in touch with them and save the wait on a response from Razer.
