Recently got an ultrawide 34" monitor, running that alongside a 24" monitor as a secondary screen, every now and again completely at random my ultrawide monitor will just go blank, the secondary screen remains normal. If I hop into the AMD settings I can just change any setting that resets the display and the ultrawide will show up as normal again.

Any idea what could be the issue here as it's really starting to bug me now, specially when I'm in a the middle of a game and the screen just goes blank!

Already tried the driver installation, I have noticed and I think I may have found the culprit, when gaming and using a browser or discord with hardware acceleration on I get the blank screen issue, gaming on its own or just browsing no problem. I have since turned off hardware acceleration in both my browser and discord and it seems OK so far.

Seems to be an issue with the ultrawide only which is odd.

The most common cause (in my experience anyway) for intermittent black screens seems to be the cable (or less commonly the port itself, either way - it's part of the connection and tends to lead to the same fault). Try different cables and if that doesn't work, different port (if you can) on the GPU and/or the monitor.

The only thing that leads me to question it would be that the screen doesn't automatically come back on (as Philo said).. but the cable would still be my first thing to try.

Already tried multiple cables, but my GPU only has one display port connection so can't really try different ones. As mentioned above though it was almost certainly an issue with hardware acceleration in chrome/discord with it turned off I have had no issues at all.

Downside being I can no longer stream on discord while playing.
