Unusual question..sound over hdmi without display wanted!

Don't really know if this is the correct section.

Basically I have this setup

Pc - gfx card display port - monitor 1
Pc - gfx card display port - monitor 2
Pc - gfx card hdmi - av receiver - 5.1 speakers

Now the problem is to get the sound over hdmi I also have to carry display over it. Therefore my pc sees 3 monitors but i only have 2, this causes problems of windows moving about when i turn the receiver on, waste of gfx card resources along with other annoyances. Not to mention the pc has allocated the receiver monitor 2 in display settings

So is there a way to just send sound over? Or is this not possible?

From a quick search, it isnt possible, but what people have done is cloned the screen onto the HDMI output device and reduced the resolution to its lowest so it takes up as little resources as possible.
