Hi guys,

Been a while since I have posted in this section, but i am in need of help! I bought a GTX280 card around this time last year when they were on offer from OCuK. Unfortunately, I have had a few problems with screen corruption lately, and need help diagnosing the problem. Below are a few screenshots of a typical 'event' (although exact patterns and colours vary each time):

Apologies for the poor photos - they were taken quickly before the screen goes into sleep mode. This tends to happen not long after the PC has started up, either when loading a '3d' program (e.g. folding@home), or sometimes when using '2d' programs (watching a DVD, opening a photo or using Opera), but occasionally it happens randomly. I have also seen a few BSODs, with the Stop message DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL. Unfortunately, I cannot systematically recreate the problem. Sometimes, the computer will run without any issues, and whenever I have tried running Vantage, no crashes occur. I have tried a reinstall of the OS (Windows Server 2008 R2), two different drivers, and a copy of windows 7 (again, with different drivers) and the problem persists. Is it likely to be a fault with the card, or something else?

The card is running completely stock, is well cooled/very little dust in the cooler and sits in a well ventilated case. Otherwise, system specs are BeQuiet! Darkpower 650W PSU, i7 920 (stock), Gigabyte x58 UD5, 6gb Patriot RAM, a few HDDs and a DVD drive.

Thanks, any advice is much appreciated.

not another 280 problem! The amount of cases ive seen where everything is fine in a system and just fails randomly like that.

Although my 280 had another (of the long list of problems) im afraid like so many their was one soultion. Get rid of it.

Not much help but i spent about 2years trying to keep a 280 working with faults and have recently given up.
