This is an unusual one(to me at any rate)and I'd be grateful for any opinions.
I was trying to tidy up some of the cabling inside my case and I noticed that the retention clips for my CPU heatsink weren't pressed fully down into the locked position. About a month ago I got my local pc repair shop to apply some Arctic Silver(it was cheaper than buying a tube of the stuff)and so I assume they hadn't pressed the clips down fully.
The unusual thing is, my idle temps have gone up by 3 degrees, from 29 to 32
I would've thought with the heatsink now seated tighter against the CPU that my temps would have at least stayed the same, or probably be fractionally lower.
Has anyone any ideas as to why my temps would now be higher?
Cheers, dagwoood.
