Folks

Anyone know if there is a utility out there that will let me add space on harddrives together to fool windows into thinking that it is one continuous huge one?

I.E. I have 4 250G Drives, but I want windows to see this as one 1T Drive.

Cheers

JBOD (as a RAID function) will do it too I think

Although a concatenation of disks (also called JBOD, or "Just a Bunch Of Drives") is not one of the numbered RAID levels, it is a popular method for combining multiple physical disk drives into a single virtual one. As the name implies, disks are merely concatenated together, end to beginning, so they appear to be a single large disk.

EDIT: Try these instructions: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/...roddocs/en-us/dm_spanned_volume.mspx?mfr=true as it sounds as if bitslice had the right idea after all. :p Note that it would be beneficial to run such an array in hardware rather than in software.

Bitslice.....you is da man!

I feel a bit of a muppet, because I think I've actually read this before.

Billytheimpaler....Thanks as well, but the M/Board is an antique (almost) and doesn't support JBOD, hence the software spanning.

Cheers
