Unusual VM problems

Since a few days ago I'm experiencing some occasional weird problems.

- Pages sometimes display as raw html, rather than the actual page.
- Page encoding errors
- Blank white pages

All fixed by refreshing, tried changing DNS servers, still the same.

Anyone else experiencing similar problems with Virgin Media?

IIRC they used to use transparent caches.

I started to get some weird issues about 2 months ago, so started using openDNS, haven't had problems since....

Sorry, realise this is a couple of years old but I've just got VM installed and had these exact issues since day one.

Blank pages or timeouts and showing unformatted HTML happening with regular occurrence.

Annoying to see a download link timeout to a blank page only to refresh it a couple of times and download at 5Mb/s :)

Are many people moving away from the VM DNS servers?

Looking at either GoogleDNS and OpenDNS. OpenDNS's free service mentions adverts... how exactly are these presented?

I use OpenDNS, and I believe the 'adverts' are only shown when you enter a blocked / unavailable URL and it forwards you to the OpenDNS notice page.

Sounds like a viable option then.

Going to give this a go tonight so will post my findings!

What AV do you have? Probably worth running Malwarebytes through to check that side of things first.

AVG Free on one computer and Windows Security Essentials AV on another.

One with AVG Free has been problem free on previous provider and on other networks.

One with WSE is a new computer that was only put together last week and suffers the same problems from day one that the other computer has been having since VM was installed.
