unwilling "upgrade"

Looks like my motherboard is on the way out, caused by the electric tripping too many times courtesy of a faulty oven. Removed the overclock and changed the PSU reset CMOS. And still the PC shuts down on the first boot....:( So I am forced to look at "upgrading" my system so motherboard, ram, cooler and processor. Any suggestions?

I could get a new board for £280 but I would be even more aggrieved to do that tbh.
Mostly farting about playing games, household stuff. If I do I think I want more than four cores though.

Is any of your current hardware under warranty? You could RMA it.

And still the PC shuts down on the first boot....

What does this mean?

In all likelihood it's either the motherboard or the PSU that is faulty. Probably the motherboard.

New Z97 boards sell from £60. High end boards sell for relatively little gold too. 2nd hand stuff is cheap as always.
