i have a ABIT KV7(VIA KT600-8237) motherboard, what would you recommend as a maximum upgrade for it, CPU, video, RAM, Hard drive etc. ?

any advice ?

So you want to keep the mobo and ditch everything else? Why? It's not really a particularly awesome motherboard. If you're spending a few hundred on the rest of that stuff, why not throw in a new mobo as well?

Welcome to the forums, BTW. :)

EDIT: Just FYI, the best CPU you could put on it is an AXDA3200DKV4D, an Athlon XP 3200+. You can get up to two DDR400 DIMMs on there up to a total of 2 GiB memory. If you go with DDR266 you can get up to three DIMMs but you wouldn't want to do that. You have an AGP 8X slot which means you can use the fastest of AGP cards. The fastest on the market is currently the X1950XT. You have two SATA ports that support RAID so the best hard disk combo is probably a pair of Seagate 7200.10 250 GB disks in RAID 0.

This will lay waste to the parts I mentioned above and probably cost less, even including the PSU:
