Upcoming Concerts

Went to see Peter Hook and the Light yesterday. Absolutely loved it. Opened with a bit of Joy Division, then played Low-Life and Brotherhood in full, with a bit of an encore.

Steven Wilson at the Royal Albert Hall last night was one of the greatest gigs I have ever been to. And tonight? Steven Wilson at the Royal Albert Hall :D Two completely different sets, pretty excited.

Amazing gigs weren't they?

I has been a bit of an RAH fest for me, I was there for a David Gilmour gig on Friday 25th then back again for 2 SW gigs.

Saw Joe Bonamassa two nights ago in Cardiff Motorpoint Arena. A few too many "blues standard" fillers for my liking but when he played his own material he really nailed it. Highlight for me was "Sloe Gin", incredible song, originally belonged to Tim Curry of all people but Bonamassa has made it his own. Bonamassa's guitar playing was phenomenal, I can't even move my fingers that fast, let alone put them in the right places :D

Urgh...i'd be seeing a lot of these if I lived down South!!!! Dammit.

IAMX is playing in Camden on 2nd November and I'd love to see them - No.1 one on my list of people I have yet to see. But I just have no more hols at work so I'm stuck.

I'd have liked to see Gilmour too and Steven Wilson would be immense. I love the new album

Damn you all!!

I am actually moving down South - I had a job lined up in at MSD in Hertfordshire a few weeks ago after a great interview but missed out purely due to my stupid 3 months notice period. Would have been moving down this weekend!!!! :(
But someday soon...I will be able to attend any gig.

Just returned from concert in Brighton and I agree with every word above. I know Joe is tired of playing the same sets all the time, but his own stuff completely blows away any "standards" he chose to play (way too many of) on this leg of the tour. Incredible concert never the less.

Lightning Bolt and Om last night was just unbelievable

Lightning Bolt were a massive bundle of rage and energy (as expected) which pretty much broke me

Om I came out unable to stop talking about how good it was! Genuinely haven't been that over excited after something in such a long time, the last 25 mins blew me a way so much people had to be told to stop talking during it because they were ruining it for everyone.

Such a good evening! Now I have ordered Sleep tickets for 6th July next year :)

Up next, Thee Oh Sees

Gentlemans Dub Club next Friday at Nottingham

Came across them by accident on the internet once and loved the sound and energy they had, so have been waiting for them to tour in my neck of the woods

Lightning Bolt on Thursday as amazing as ever although the set was far too short. Spent the end of their set down the front stood next to a certain ex member of Sonic Youth. Dan Friel and Om both good too.
Friday was a trip to Cardiff as birthday tickets to see BMTH.
Nowt planned at the moment but probably John Carpenter next Halloween.

Been to a few gigs since starting uni here; Between the Buried and Me + Haken, Anti-flag (kinda twice) and have Chunk No Captain Chunk tomorrow night :D

Hoping to get a ticket for Hacktivist on Monday too.

Thee Oh Sees on Monday were amazing! Though I am covered in bruises now...
