Upcoming Concerts

Il Divo postponed / cancelled their gig in Edinburgh last night until Dec 2022!

I'm guessing with the ever developing Covid situation many others may follow suit?

We have a few concerts booked already for 2022 but I'm not putting too much faith into any of them actually proceeding given our current circumstances . . . . . . .

Saw Gentleman's Dub Club last night in Sheffield, absolutely banging. Great buzz from the band and the crowd, everyone bouncing away.

Tonight is The Coral in Nottingham, they are playing their first album in full for its 20 yr anniversary tour.

3/11/22 August burns red + bury tomorrow

5/11/22 crowbar and sepultura

yes im gonna be deaf afterwards without a doubt

Get some musicians earplugs, they lower the volume to a tolerable level. I learned the hardway, have some mild hearing loss and tinnitus in my right ear due go going to gigs without plugs.

About 15 years ago I had some custom molded earplugs made which have filters in them. They do a fantastic job of reducing the volume without killing the sound. I can't remember how much they were other than remembering that at the time they were quite expensive. Well worth it though.

On the very odd occasion I go to a gig without them, I really know about it.

Got Amon Amarth & Machine Head booked for September. Last MH gig I went to (25th Anniversary tour) I did something I don't usually do and bought the Gig shirt at the door before going in as I'm old now and didn't think I'd be moshing that much - big mistake.....HUGE mistake..........I stayed towards the back of the pit back during the new album stuff but once A Thousand Lies kicked off I couldn't help myself and dived right into the middle, and by the time the gig finished I'd had a fist sized hole ripped through the back my "new" t-shirt, Nice!

I've not seen Amon Live other than on media so I'm really looking forward to that!

Jealous, MH are one of my favs, more a fan of the old stuff The burning red, more things change and burn my eyes. They changed their sound a bit afterwards i think.

still a fantastic band tho.

Amon Amarth are always good live - you know what you're going to get with them which is a bunch of the classics and a good show, they had a Viking battle during Twilight of the Thunder Gods when I last went to see them a few years back. About the only true 'death metal' band I like, more of a Doom / Doom-death fan these days.

Saw Hans Zimmer last night, absolutely phenomenal gig, totally blown away. With 30+ musicians on stage the power, sound and depth of the music was just stunning.

Planet Earth II with The City Of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra tomorrow night.

Then the next gigs aren't until May, which is Kae Tempest and The Yard Act, really looking forward to seeing those guys.

I saw In Flames at Scala in London on Sunday. Smallest venue I've seen them in (about 1100 capacity) but such a great intimate gig. Really enjoyed and great energy from both crowd and band.

Next month I'm seeing Ghost at the O2 Arena, then two gigs with Devin Townsend at the Royal Albert Hall and then Electric Callboy (formerly known as Eskimo Callboy) at the Electric Ballroom. Gonna be a ******* blast

Edit: And I also bought a ticket to see Bloodywood in August at the Boston Music Room in London

Went for a local metal gig in Chelmsford on Thursday, a local band called Bearfist played. Never heard them before but my friend suggested we go there as our Bloodywood gig had been postponed. Had a great time and really enjoyed it :)

Next for me will be Bloodstock in August.

Then Within Destruction in October followed by Archspire in December as part of the Faces of Death tour.

Next year so far is BFMV/Jinjer then Wage War/I Prevail

April - Gazpacho/Pure Reason Revolution
May - Marillion
May - The Dear Hunter
Nov - Porcupine Tree.

I had a ticket to the Gazpacho/PRR gig but ended up having to miss it which I was gutted about. I wasn't overly bothered about missing Gazpacho but I'm a huge PRR fan and would have really enjoyed hearing some of 'Above Cirrus' live.

Were you at the UK Marillion weekend? It was superb! This is the first time I've been to a UK one but I've been to all the Dutch weekends.

Porcupine Tree should be good, I'm hoping the new album is a bit better than the previous one. 'The Incident' made it easy for me to not miss PT when they went their separate ways.

Gigs I've got planned are:

Marillion - Twice in September
Maximo Park - October
Porcupine Tree - November
Australian Pink Floyd - November

In April I saw both Devin Townsend shows at the Royal Albert Hall and they were amazing. Scaled back by the stage production to be Devin, but soooo many good songs being played over the 2 nights.

Last Friday I saw Meshuggah at the Royal Albert Hall and that was another intense gig, heavy as heck but so awesome as well.

However, none of these gigs were anything compared to Rammstein in Berlin last Sunday.... I knew they had good shows but it was so much bigger and better than I would have expected. Absolutely insane show and such a great atmosphere.

My next gigs will be The Ghost Inside at Brixton Academy on Saturday and the week after that I'm going to the 2nd weekend of Hellfest.

Wow, tickets went up for sale at 9am this morning for Hans Zimmer next June, and I struggled to book them fast enough as they were being sold before my eyes while I was making the selection! :o

Just managed to get 2 seats on the floor area though, 1 whole section back from where I started to try and get them lol.
