Hi again,

I'm due to go to Ghana for 8 days next month as part of my university course, and I'm going to take my 100D with me. I've already decided on a lens to buy and take, the new EF-S 24mm STM f2.8.

What I was wondering is whether it's worth investing in a filter of any kind? It'll be the peak of the dry season when we're there, so very hot and very sunny. Is there any kind of filter that people recommend for such conditions?

Cheers

So I got back on Monday... didn't end up buying any filters.

But here's the pics: https://flic.kr/s/aHsk9BAeCz

I know that they're mostly ordinary and not great. However there are a few that I really like, and I enjoyed it. As I've said in the gear thread, changing lenses frequently was annoying so I'm looking to sell/upgrade for the future. Keeping the 40mm, selling the 20-35 and 70-200 F4 L, ordered a 24-70 F4 L IS to leave on my 5D most of the time and will eventually add the 70-200 F4 L IS to keep me occupied.

And before anyone notices - I used P mode most of the time. I'm not as quick as I thought and the lack of auto ISO on the 5D complicated things (however was otherwise mightily impressed by this decade old camera - very clean even at 1600). Hopefully I'll become more relaxed and prepared enough to use Av or M in the future. Comments welcome! :D
