I was just wondering as I have an AMD FX 6100 cpu and the backup BIOS doesn't support it, however the current BIOS does. This means if the backup BIOS was used my computer won't boot.
I would then have to get hold of another cpu just to update the BIOS.
I don't know sorry. Are you sure the system won't boot with the FX and an old BIOS? I've seen plenty of boards that will boot with an "unsupported" chip, they just won't know the name and feature set of it... The FX6100 is quite a departure from the Sempron/Athlon/Phenom line though. I'd still get an X6 myself
