Hi, ive just swapped my OC'ed E5200 for a Q9550, do i need to update my BIOS for the new CPU to work at its stock clock speed or should i keep just OC from what ive got now?

If i need to update BIOS how do i do it?

Kind of new to the OC world

Cheers

if you asking can you keep your overclock settings from your E5200, and just put your quad in, i wouldnt advise it

Thanks for the input, as i said, im new to this so there probably was a better way to do it.

I set my BIOS to auto on everything and the quad ran at stock speed, it was stable for a couple of hours in COD4 and reached a max temp of 42c so im happy with that.

Its loads better than before and load times have decreased dramatically.

So touch wood, i think its gone in ok.

Cheers
Dan
