I have a cheapo gigabye board with i7 2600k, it performs well but I'd ideally like to ski and clock, a bit more if poss.

Are there any good boards that will run this then let me go ivy in a year? Or would I be better just selling the 2600 and board and changing both? I have air cooling and can hit 4.8ghz but I'd lime to see 5 out of it, seems a good chip.

Dont bother changing to try get 200mhz . Only change if z77 chipset which would be your choice offers you more features you need.

Do Z77 work well with sandybridge and also ivybridge?

Ive changed my cooling on my board today and managed to get a bit of tim on the back of the motherboard, damaging two of the ram slots, so I cant run dual channel anymore, doh!

Whats the Z77 board to go for that would allow me dual 16x pci-e?

Try and RMA'ing the board directly back to Gigabyte, if they say NO, then what sort of budget have you got for a new board?

£108 gets this SLI/Crossfire (8X/8X) board - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-390-GI&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=2261

(Yes Z77 work as well with Sandybridge as they do with Ivybridge)

No set budget as such, anything under £200 is fine, it was my own fault, you can see where the back of the board has burned so i doubt gigabyte would be too forthcoming wiht a swap.

The only thing I do want to ensure is that the board is 16x/16x SLI as a second 670 and new PSU will be my next upgrade around xmas.
