Hey all!

Time to update my rig, got the new parts today, thought ya'll might care to see! :) As usual super service from OCUK! Ordered yesterday and here it is!

The main thing is the new GPU, twin 256GB Samsung SSDs and extra ram!

This is to upgrade my current system which is

i5 2500k @ 4.3ghz
8GB Ballistex 1600mhz ram
EVGA GTX 460 SC
2TB HDD
320GB HDD
64GB SSD etc etc.

I'll update this post as I go along, wish me luck :)

Got the ram installed and now doing the drivers for Sata 6gb/s controller card. (=

Surprised you're ordering from the UK if you live in Belgium! I would never have thought to do it when I was living in Antwerp :P

DPD seem okay to me, not as good as some though!

I changed the new SSD's to directly to the mobo, I think PCI x1 was bottlenecking it.

New speeds are :

Want to get it higher though, pref 900mb/s read/write, made a thread in storage forum, hopefully can get some advice there!

This is probably where I will leave it with SSD's unless anyone has a decent suggestion how to get more out of them?! It'll just be for programs anyhow :)

Gave COD MW2 a quick look and got 90FPS on max settings @ 1920 x 1200!

You do realise in COD there is a framerate limit set to 90??

Push the console button and type /com_maxfps 200 or something along those lines and you will see an increase.

Ohahaha, didn't know; it's not a game I play much but I knew I had it far from where it is now before!

Will that work in multiplayer?

I'll give COD a blast when I figure out how to open the console :P

@Wazza: Ah yeah, I only have 2 6gb/s on mobo and wanted to keep OS SSD direct with mobo in case of problems with the cheapish card. Got the OS SSD and new 2TB HDD running of the card now though, so making use of the extra 6gb/s slots. (:

Anyone know a benchmark for measuring game loads etc? I want to copy my steam programs now but it'd be great to compare the times between mechanical and SSD raid :D

Moving my data to new data drive:

I'm pretty sure that's a hell of a lot faster than HDD to HDD, but far from SATA3 speeds I think?

Edit: Noticed a gain of about 40fps on Arma II (DayZ mod) using same settings as the old 460 SC; running the 670 at stock atm, will OC later maybe
