Hi guys, was just wandering if there has been anymore heard of about these cards and a release date? as i can't seem to find a lot on the web, Gibbo have any inside area 51 classified information for us ;)?

would love info as well as am holding back my next build to see what there like before i decide :D

Should be announced on the 9th March (CeBit?) - anywho early march at some big techy show. Whether they will announce "omg its out gogoogg buy now!" or "yeah its out in 2 weeks.... buy then" is unknown.
As ever, will be NDA'ed up to the hilt, so dont expect much spec info.

Probably about £450-£500, but don't buy one on release day, as they will be around the £400 mark in about 2-3 days after when they will go into the 'This Week Only', just ask the x1900 owners. :p

Should be cheaper than the 512GTX as memory should be cheaper (more mass production) and the die should be cheaper to produce as well due to a shrink in the process. Assuming its as good as everyone thinks, i'd say £50 more expencive than the 1900XTX and then after a week or two drops in price to be more competitive.... assuming they do a proper launch.

I'd go along wiht that. The 512GTX was a special limited edition card so it doesn't really count price wise, afterall it is only £27 more expensive that the X1900XT-X which is only 5% difference BASED ON RRP. But as the 512MB is in so much demand and so little qunatitiy shops charge what they want.

It wont be like that with the 7900, it should be equal in pice to the X1900 RRP. But since by all accounts it will be faster it can command a higher price.

The question I want to know is, what will it do to its little brothers the 7800gt and gtx in terms of price? The 7800gt is currently pretty competitively priced considering it's performance, but the gtx is probably overpriced. I think we'll see the gap in price between these two cards shrink with the 7800gt's. The gap currently stands at about £100-£150 but i suspect that'll be down to £50-£70 within the next several months.

PS Did anyone notice that the 7800 series seem to have mysteriously gone up in price at OcUk by the tune of 5-10% in the last day or so? Could be in preparation for an almightly priced nvidia card about to hit the market.

NVIDIA are keen to have stable pricing and hence the reason why both 7800 GT's and GTX's have hardly changed since they were launched nearly 6 months ago, in fact the pricing appreciates on some SKU's due to supply and demand issues.
