Update on broken seal 780ti's

This is how it should be.

Any Apple products that are returned under DSR are returned to Apple Distribution Center, cleaned up, erased back to factory standards, put back in a box with all the original accessories, re-sealed and sent back to the shop as new. The retailer doesn't lose out on anything.

If there's a mark that won't clean off easily then it gets sent back to China to have that particular part replaced so it's in a "new" condition.

I'll be keeping an even more watchful eye on things in the future but it's certainly crossed my mind in the past that some things I've received haven't quite been as I'd expect in terms of the appearance of the packaging though I've always put that down to things either spending hours/days/weeks in transit or some berk being a tad slapdash at the packing stage in the factory.

He has every right to vent. I was mad too after it happened 4 times in a row. Also complaining to them directly wont do a damn thing, but posting up on here will.

The point is at least give them the opportunity to do something about it. There's no need to just go round in circles saying the same thing. I get the cause of the annoyance...

The point is I knew this thread would get peeps in having a go at the OP, there is no need to add those type of posts.

He is entitled to be annoyed and its sorted so must have been legit and at times you need a bit of public venting/bad PR to get somewhere.

Exactly, this thread was a place for people who have expierenced this problem with OCUK to come in tell there views about the situation. I would hope no one disagrees that these events actually happened and are unacceptable?!?!

Well something's going on at ocuk towers, many people have had problems with new but used graphics cards. We demand an explanation, but it won't come as they won't say "oh yeah we bin the cards for our own systems and shift the silicon turds"

Of course not - if you had read the whole thread you'd see nobody was disputing the cause of the grievance nor the airing of that grievance either :p.

Friend and I bought GTX 670s at the same time, both came new, unopened and clean.

Can't speak for anyone else but OCUK has always been no1 in CS so i've never had cause to be worried.

Seen a few posts recently about people receiving returns instead of new items its a bit worrying especially as you pay a little extra usually.

This tbh. I cannot fault OCUK after sales support but we shouldn't need it. I received an opened mobo and Hazro... and then got two more Hazros that had the panel falling out of it. So I postet in the GH section... so what?

Bailey and the team are excellent. But people having a go at the OP for posting here rather than in the CS are wrong IMHO. This isn't a Nazi forum

I know at least three people who have received opened and subsequently DOA gcards...

Hi guy's. I'm at work now, but I got a text saying the new cards will be with me today from 14:40-15:40. I will update more when I get home!

I'm hoping they are all ok and NEW this time;) I will call the wife and get her to open the box and let me know and update then, but my detailed update will come when I get to check over everything myself.

Ok as promised. The wife has opened the box and low and behold everything is now brand spanking new. Cellophane wrap intact, labels intact and Superclock stock fan versions of EVGA gpu's x2.

This is how it should have been all along. Thanks OCuk and Rob Gould for sorting out your mistake quickly.

Thanks
Spike

Yeah hopefully you dont spend 3 months like I did trying to prove to OCUK that they are faulty have them sent back twice only for them to send them back!

Then finally 3 months later they send them again this time to the manufacturer who finally deem them faulty!

Tested both on Heaven benchmark and with just a 50Mhz oc on clock and 25MHz on memory (it's already superclocked - this speed just matches the stock speed of the original gpu's) I got a score of 3148 with minimal oc, which is awesome!

Basically this time the cards came with everything - all the socket protectors, all the wrapping and stickers intact and the gpu's even had a film ON THEM which were not there at all on my previous gpu's! I'm very happy now!

Nice one mate. That's the way it should be on every GPU you buy.
