Update Rollup 3 Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1

So has anyone had any trouble with this update?

Update Rollup 3 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1 (KB949870)

It kindly decided to disable all of our exchange services during its install and didnt enable them again.

Problems started at 8:12 this morning, when none of the services would start.

Kind of resolved at 11:25. Stupid certificates needed to connect to the internet unrestricted to check the code was uptodate.

Sounds a bit of a nightmare, not many firms want to allow their email server out on non mail ports.....

The update kindly stripped OWA of all its permissions as well.

Ah well all fixed now and I removed the old 2003 Exchange Server from the domain today as well. All good.

It sort of installed alright on mine, but the hub transport didn't start back up when the box rebooted itself.

Previous rollups have broken OWA for me too.

I'm not impressed with Exchange 2007 patching so far. Its cause me so many problems i'm thinking of disabling automatic updates on my company server and would never recomend having it turned on in a customers production environment.

Automatic updates isnt turned on, on the production servers anyway, it all goes through WSUS. The senior tech is meant to handle all the updates that go through WSUS and check them for any issues that might pop up...

Obviously didn't check the Exchange forums for any issues!
