Yep, a friend did this the other week to transfer a car to me - I got an instant email from them and a few days later a new logbook in the post .

yup used it a few times recently, it only seems to be functional during office hours tho

Yep, sold a bike a few weeks ago, updated online and got the confirmation email instantly, with a letter a few days later. As above I think it only works during office hours though, which is a bit weird.
