I have and old but excellent 350watt that I keep as a spare it doesn't have to do any real heavy work (hence the 350watt rating) but I would like to get rid of its ugly air circulation preventing cable mess. I found this tutorial and I kinda considering giving it a go Mad? or Rad?

What do you peeps think? Err, yes I am a stingy so and so but I also like a project here and there keeps me sane :D

Tutorial linky

Well, going by the look of the PSU they modded there, I dont think it would be a good idea. I guess if you had a black PSU (an old Nexus one perhaps), and used black cables I think that might look good but I would rather just buy a new PSU instead of having all the hassle!

No point in making the ATX modular. Its not as if you are going to use the PC without it. Those other plugs are £1.79 each for the socket and then the plug. They are "Locking Multi-Pole Chassis Plugs". You can get them in 2,3,4,5,6 and 8 pin varieties.
Good solid connectors. How about just de-soldering the wires you dont need and braiding the rest?

Thanks for the replies, PhillyDee, good point about the ATX cable no point adding expense and if I did get inside the psu case I may snip and just braid what I need,
SCOTCH LOCKS could be used inside the psu to re-connect the wires :D

If I could get a couple auto temperature controlled fans would be a great job!
