After the update to iOS 7 my iPad thinks it's never been connected to iTunes. So I get the setup as new device or restore from backup. I don't want to do either of these things as the iTunes backup is old (current icloud backup)

I want to sync it with iTunes so I have a hard copy backup. Any ideas?

when you say setup as a new device...

Mine asked if I wanted to enable or disable location, then asked if I wanted to add a passcode. all in a similar to how a new device acts. Then just went to my home screen. I think their might have been 1 other step, can't remember.

I updated mine over the wifi at home so didn't plug it physically into iTunes on the Mac.

When I plugged it in to do a physical backup I get the new device or restore from previous backup. All I want to do is open iTunes then backup, but I can't get past the option screen.

I guess I could setup as a new iPad then restore from iCloud but it's a pain when it's already working.
