Updated with wrong bios

motherboard: MSI P67A-C45
You 'll have to excuse me I'm very green when it comes to this stuff. I've just updated my bios to : Award BIOS Release Date 2013-01-09 Version 5.4
I'm sorry but i didn't take a note of the version it was running.
The installation seemed to go without a hitch but when it tried to reboot the machine switches off after a second....then tries again and repeats.
Is this fixable?
UPDATE:
I can see now that i've used the biso update for "Support For P67A-C45 (B3)" and not MSI P67A-C45...... is there a way of fixing this....computer wont get past post.
UPDATE:
I've tried booting the pc with all the drives unplugged from the motherboard and a correct copy of the bios on a fat32 usb drive (in all the usb slots) but with no luck. (have also flashed the cmos)
unless anyone knows of another way of fixing this i think i'm looking at replacing the board..... if i do can i replace it with the P67A-C45 (B3) as the P67A-C45 has been discontinued.

When you say you have a USB drive with the bios file on, do you have a bootable dos system on the drive to load it?

are you able to get a copy of the correct firmware and then flash the bios with it?

nkata: no i don't have a bootable dos system on the drive...would it need one and how would i go about creating one......I was following the instructions laid out in this link.

ED209: The computer wont boot past post so even though i have the correct copy of the firmware i can't get it to flash.

I don't actually think there is a difference between the Vanilla version and the B3 version BIOS wise. Apart from the chipset being replaced because of a fault from Intel I doubt if they would have modified the BIOS for that.

Maybe its something else that's causing the problem as you can rarely flash a BIOS incorrectly now unless you have done some serious hacking about with the command line.

I've assumed it was the bios update that did it as it happened at the end of the installation. What else could it be?

You say you flashed your motherboard with Award BIOS Release Date 2013-01-09 Version 5.4, but the P67A-C45 is an AMI bios board and the lastest revison for yours is 1.J

What file are you trying to recover with? Should be called E7673IMS.1J0 which is compatable with:
P67A-C45 = 601-7673-010 = PCB ver. 10 = BIOS 1xx
P67S-C43 = 601-7673-020 = PCB ver. 10 = BIOS 1xx
P67A-S40 = 601-7673-030 = PCB ver. 10 = BIOS 1xx

P67A-G45 (B3) = 601-7673-070 = PCB ver. 20 = BIOS 1xx
