Updating 5870 Bios

also (feel like i'm talking to myself here!!) when i was in dos mode faced with the words "reboot your machine to complete bios update" i typed in after the C: logoff and the tried shutdown yet it came back as a bad command?

can anyone explain if i was doing this incorrectly please or would it be that the USB stick didn't have the correcxt files in with this command to understand what i needed to do?

in the end i just pressed my machines reset button, changed the HDD back to my SSD and it seemed to work fine
 
Your usb drive wouldn't recognise C only its own drive letter, whatever that was. You don't need to log off, just reboot and remove usb stick go into bios and reset to boot from hard drive.:)

yup that's what i did. all seems a ok so am happy with the outcome.
never done it before but couldn't believe how easy it was
