Hi,
I have just purchased a small cased 'smart' or mini PC, with an Intel Atom Quad-Core 64bit Z3735D processor, 2GB of internal RAM, a 64GB internal SSD, plus 1 x HDMI port , 1 x USB 3 port, 2 x USB 2 ports, 1 x Micro SD-Card Slot.
It also came with an OEM version of Windows 8.1 with Bing, pre-installed, (which is at least 3 years old!) which I had to set up, as with any new device.
Although it all appeared to configure itself OK, I would now like to upgrade to Windows 10, but although I have downloaded the MS media Creation tool, even after being left running all night, it was still "Searching for Updates" in the morning, so I gave up!
I have used the above tool to create a bootable USB drive, but I guess this will not now give me a 'free' update from the OEM product key?
I am prepared to buy a 'retail' version of Widows 10 if necessary, but am really looking for way to upgrade without having to do a long (and slow!) download from the device itself.
I do appreciate that the processor leaves a lot to be desired, but hopefully Windows 10 will make the most of it!
Thanks!
