Updating bios by CD

Just followed this guide to update bios by CD. http://www.biosflash.com/e/bios-boot-cd.htm

Set bios to boot from Dvd drive, paused for abit during boot then loaded scandisk then loaded windows .

Sounds like the CD you made isn't bootable or you have the press a key for it to boot from the CD (should say on screen if you do).
