Updating bios for ip35-e

Hi guys, reading on the abit website they are saying you need to make a bootable floppy, and when switching the pc on boot the floppy to flash the motherboard.

I do not have a floppy drive, could i put these files on cd-r and boot from the cd drive instead?

im in the same boat as you

i have the Abit IP35 and want to update the bios but the floppy drive i have isnt working

hasnt been used for about 4 years

is there any other way to update the bios other than by floppy

Using a flash drive is a popular way.

Thats right. I was thinking of putting my old floppy on my next rig but I may as well get a flash drive particularly for bios flashing.

Ok cheers i will try that then, didnt think usb flash drive would work in dos.
