i have an Asrock N68s-ucc that will only show the 2 cores of my 7750 black edition.
i'm on bios 1.50 and want to update to 1.70 to see if that allows the other cored to be unlocked, the problem is if i use the windows updater it stops working virtually straight away and if i use the F6 option it cannot find the bios file.

i have made a bootable usb stick and placed the bios file into it but it is not recognized when scanning drives

what am i doing wrong

i've tried but for some reason it will not recognize the 1.70 rom file.

and the windows utility says 'rom file size wrong' .

i searched all over for a different 1.70 bios that worked and tried about 8 different downloads but with all the same problem, for some reason i changed the search criteria and i cam across an asrock bios page for the motherboard that had a bios 1.60 that i had not seen before so i downloaded the windows flash utlilty and it flashed to 1.60 and the mobo is working fine.

except the cores still will not unlock.

i cannot for the life of me remember the search criteria but i still have the flash utility for the 1.60 bios.

i have just won a Phenom 2 x3 BE so will be trying that in the board when it arrives.
