How do I go about updating my gigabyte ds3-r, version 1.1 currently bios version 1?

I haven't got A floppy disk drive so can I send the file which I download off of the website and put it onto A usb stick then do I have to go into boot at startup and pick usb?

Then restart with usb stick in?

Never done this before

Well about 5 month's ago when I built this computer straight away I wanted to overclock hence the reason for buying the E2140.

I tried overclocking but here's the problem when I change the cpu host controller to manual so I can change the fsb and save, it loads but it always change's back to auto host controller same thing happens with pci now Back then people told me to turn off different setting's which I did and It didn't help so I gave up.

Now Iv'e gotten back into it and thought A bios update mite help me with the problem I was having?

It's easy on the Gigabytes. Just stick the BIOS file on the USB stick, reboot and enter the BIOS, choose Load Optimal Defaults to clear the overclocked settings, save and exit and then re-enter the BIOS, hit F8 to bring up Q-Flash and then follow the on-screen instructions.

Tho it's all in your manual.

Went into Q flash and it came up with either drive/floppy A or B and found know file's?

This is how Ive got them on usb stick

P35DS3R.F3
FLASH895
autoexec

Anything I have to change?

You only need the P35DS3R.F3 file.

Try hitting the 'End' key during the POST screen instead of entering the BIOS (I think you can even update from a hard drive if you use the End key option).

Just tried it again with only P35DS3R.F3 on the usb stick pressed end key and bring's Q flash up, went into load file's and it comes up with Floppy A and B and no file's on either of them?

What am I doing wrong?

Yep it is set to enabled, I might leave it for the time being as for some strange reason the mobo is now starting to save the change's so it will now oc. :D
