updating downward?

i upgraded to xp pro a coupel of months bak because of networking, recently i found out that the only vista versions i can get , without doing a clean install, are the ultimat versions because of the pro addition, is there any way of downgrading to original without losing HD data and the rest?

It would probably be a horrendously bad idea to upgrade to Vista anyway - you'd be much better off with a clean install, backing up all your data first.

And I don't think you could downgrade anyway.

i know but i have so much random crap on here with i cant be botherd to reinstall. and im networked to a server/e-mails etc. i would rater not have to do that, i will have to look at the price of ultimate when it comes out
