Hi all

dead gpu is a bit OTT, but hopefully got your attention :P

a while back i posted asking which nvidia drivers are best for a 6800NU, can't remember which drivers they were, but removed the latest i had and installed, didn't notice much difference but I plodded on regardless.

Right, I decided to update my ASrock Duals Bios, AGP driver and LAN driver.

Went to the site, downloaded them. The AGP driver said I should re-install my vid card drivers. The only drivers i had on my machine were some 91.31's.

Uninstalled the old drivers, ran driver cleaner after restart. Now installed new drivers.

I though't I'd try D.O.W to see how it is, well, the intro didn't show (could hear it tho) The menu screen had a trooper bolter and a lot of artifacts, no menu.

I thought... oh... lol, so I went to the graphics card config (a seperate part of DOW) ran the test on my default res - 12x10 32bit colour, tested it and I saw a plane of ground... which i know for a fact a trooper should be stood there. So there is no trooper in the test, just the ground.

Wanted to know if this was just DOW, booted CSS up... guess what, black screen, moving the mouse over where the menu should be made the clicking noise. I decided to join a server thru steam. Got black sky on dust 2, jaggies everywhere, very low fps... colour distorted.

Im not stupid and i can normally solve this stuff. But i need help. I have no idea what has happend. What do you suggest, what could be causing this?

spec:
3700+ AMD San diego
ASROCK Dual PCI-X & AGP
2gb DDR400 Ram
250GB HD & 80GB HD
Geforce 6800NU

Im going to be buying an x1800xt or 7900GT in a couple of days when some of my stuff on the bay sells. but... whats wrong? lol

just did that, removed nvidia driver, re-installed agp driver. re-installed nvidia driver.

same result

removed nvidia driver, driver cleaner, re-installed old nvidia drivers, same result....

haiz...

gonna try going back to the old agp drivers

went back to old driver and still not working in games!... what could this be =(. The only thing updated now is my motherboard bios.
