Updating drivers...probably a stupid question

But what the heck, I'll just expect a stupid answer!!!

I'm looking at updating my ATI drivers for my 3850 to the 8.7 version (which I have heard are good for 38xx series, but poor for 48xx series-am I right?)

I was just wondering whether this means that I will need to reinstall hotfixes. Say I have the Crysis hotfix installed, as an example. If I upgrade my graphics drivers do I need to reinstall this hotfix for it to continue working, or will it be taken into account when the new drivers are installed?

The fix for the previous driver should be inclusive in the new driver. If it isn't then ATI are doing something wrong and their driver team are usually pretty darn good :).

If you feel Crysis performances are down to what you're used to then it's apparent it's not been included then you may have to resort back to the drivers that gave the best performances but hopefully you won't have to do this.
