Updating Drivers?

Do I have to un-install amd driver to install new one? am on 11.12 and when I check for an update they is 12.1 but when I download it and install it, it dont change just stays at same version?

Anyone had this.

I always un-install first then run driver sweeper, then re-install new drivers.

Under Compatibility on the 12.1 7950 isn't listed, but when I check for update it list it? myabe thats why its not auto updating.
